Editing Journey:

My concept for the final fast film is that they would go old school, simple action and more racing just like the first 3 films. So I made this version like that, grounded and putting the over the top action to rest. The challenge always for Fast 11 “what if” trailer is finding a way to deal with the events of the Fast X since it ending with the cliff hanger. Instead of showing the final scene of Dom and his son, its gonna get old, the only way to start fresh is seeing it in another characters perspective, this time Letty. For act 1 we see Letty driving then he gets a call from Brian asking for her help to fight Dante.

One plus about the trailer is the Jason Mamoa commercial which made the trailer more fresh. Act 2 Hobbs gets some spotlight, by saying “We need to think outside the box” Dom replies “What are you suggesting” in which Brian says “I suggest we go old school”. Which was great since this was the direction majority of fans want Fast saga to go, simple like the first 3 films. One unique part of the trailer is Dom saying “If God is with us, who can be against us”. While all the family members are sitting outside, perfect time to say it. This fits well to reference God since the family always pray in the early films which shows that they believe.

I ended the trailer simply showing Dom and Brian going on a race. I think this would be the perfect last scene of the film to end the franchise. Last great thing about the trailer I have to mention is the music, “Can’t St0p” is perfect choice because it captures the vibe and also good inside joke how everyone wants the franchise to stop already. This was fun to edit, I hope it does well so I get another chance to bring great ideas for Fast & Furious 11 before it comes out next year.
